What this equipment does
Feeder breakers combine controlled feeding with low-speed crushing. In underground mines they receive coal from shuttle cars or continuous miners and discharge onto section belts. In surface mines they receive truck or loader feed and discharge to conveyors. The equipment is chosen for feed opening, chain conveyor rating, breaker roll torque, output size, and mobility. A good feeder breaker reduces belt overloads, controls surges, and protects downstream equipment from oversize lumps.

Maintenance and Wear Notes
Maintenance focuses on conveyor chains, breaker picks, drive reducers, wear liners, and dust seals. Pick condition should be monitored because worn picks increase fines generation and motor load.
